Glasgow Colleges' Regional Board announces new appointments

New board appointments
Glasgow Colleges' Regional Board has welcomed three new non-executive Board members, as it leads the region through a period of significant change. 
 
Helyn Gould, Des McNulty and Paul Smart bring a wealth of experience and skills to the Board of Scotland's largest college region.
 
Helyn Gould is the Deputy Associate Principal for Learning and Teaching at Strathclyde University in Glasgow.  Des McNulty is Assistant Vice-Principal, Economic Development and Civic Engagement at the University of Glasgow. Paul Smart is an independent consultant with a focus on Scotland's college sector, having worked with the Scottish Government as the Deputy Director of the College Policy, Young Workforce and SFC Sponsorship Division.

 

Janie McCusker, Chair of Glasgow Colleges' Regional Board, said: "I'm very pleased to welcome Helyn, Des and Paul to GCRB. Their expertise will strengthen our Board at this crucial time for the region, as we look to the future of education in Glasgow as part of our regional review.

Responsible for £200million annually, GCRB works with Glasgow’s three colleges, City of Glasgow College, Glasgow Clyde College and Glasgow Kelvin College. We focus on successful outcomes for our employers, 2,300 staff and 55,000 learners. Together, the region helps people to build their careers, develop ambitions and strengthen the wider community and economy. 

 

The three new Board members have been appointed to Glasgow Colleges' Regional Board for four years.
